Top Tips for Spelling

Try some of our top tips for learning your spellings at home and see if you can find some new activities that you enjoy.

Have fun spelling!

You don't have to use a pencil and paper to practise spelling; try using different colours, letter styles, painting the words or even making your own graffiti wall .

Try going outside and spelling on the floor or walls with chalk or water.

Mix up the letters of the word and get them back in the right order. You can use magnetic letters, scrabble tiles or cut out letters from a paper or magazine.

Play spelling games; build the letters out of lego, play guess my spelling or throw a ball with a friend saying the letters of the spellings out loud as you go.
